The Chicago Dogs have a championship for the first time in franchise history.
Impact Field was named Ballpark Digest’s top independent baseball ballpark Tuesday afternoon, winning the website’s 2018 Best of the Ballparks competition.
“We are very proud of Impact Field and want to thank our fans, the Village of Rosemont and the vision of Impact for bringing this great project to life,” Dogs co-owner Shawn Hunter said. “Our goal is to always create great moments of truth; those first and everlasting impressions.”
This year’s competition ends after five rounds of fan voting. Impact Field beat out CarShield Field– home of the Frontier League’s River City Rascals– in the championship round, winning 60 percent of the championship vote.
Sponsored by Impact Networking and built in conjunction with the Village of Rosemont, the Impact Field is a new, $60 million, 6,300-seat stadium in Rosemont, Illinois.
