Brooks Gosswein’s complete game leads Chicago Dogs to 6-2 win.
Brooks Gosswein, the starting pitcher in game four for the Dogs, had shined in his three prior starts, throwing 16.2 innings while allowing just three earned runs.
Gosswein’s recent excellence carried over into his start against Sioux Falls, throwing a complete game, allowing zero earned runs on six hits, striking out four batters.
The Dogs found themself on the board early, scoring a run in the first inning after Brantley Bell doubled, advanced to third off of an error, then scored on a Jacob Teter single.
Teter has reached base safely in every game since May 22nd.
It wasn’t until the sixth inning, where the Dogs added a second run. Nick Novak hit an RBI single, extending the team’s lead to 2-0.
The Dogs continued to add in the bottom of the seventh from a Narciso Crook sacrifice fly to right field, allowing Nick Dalesandro to score.
The next at-bat, Jacob Teter drilled a double to the center field wall, driving in Brantley Bell.
Teter batted a perfect two for two on the day, adding two walks. The big day at the plate raised Teter’s season long batting average to .356.
The seventh inning rally for the Dogs went on, as Johnni Turbo blasted a two run home run to left field, his third longball of the year.
With the series tied at two, both teams will seek the series victory in game five.
