Chicago Dogs extend team win streak to five games after taking opener in Fargo, 8-4.

Following a series sweep against the Winnipeg Goldeyes, the Dogs traveled to Fargo, North Dakota, for a three game series against the RedHawks.

Brooks Gosswein started the game on the mound for the Dogs in the series opener. Gosswein had been extremely successful in his two latest starts, having allowed just one earned run over 10.2 innings pitched.

Consistent pitching continued for Gosswein against Fargo, as he pitched six innings, allowing just two earned runs, while striking out six batters. Gosswein’s strong outing earned himself his third win of the season.

The Dogs’ offense attacked RedHawks starting pitcher Colten Davis early, scoring two runs on two hits in the first inning, led by doubles from both Jacob Teter and Johnni Turbo.

Teter’s first inning double extended his on base streak to 32 games.

Teter’s production continued in the third and fifth innings, collecting his second and third hit of the evening, driving in runs on both at-bats.

The hot Dogs offense continued all night, totalling eight runs on RedHawks pitching.

The RedHawks couldn’t catch up, as Davis Pratt and Joey Marciano combined to pitch three shutout innings out of the bullpen for the Dogs.

Thomas King, the rookie pitcher in the Dogs bullpen, will make his first professional start of his career in game two, going up against Orlando Rodriguez.

King, having only 1.2 professional innings under his belt, will look to extend the Dogs win streak to six in game two.
