In a wild, back and forth game, the Cleburne Railroaders overcame Jacob Teter’s homerun, two doubles and seven RBI and walked off the Dogs, 11-10 tonight in the first of a six game series.

In the bottom of the second inning, former Dog Jesus Lujano got the scoring started with a solo HR.  The Dogs would take the lead in the top of the third inning when Johnni Turbo drove home Chase Harris with an RBI single.  They would take the lead later on in the inning when Teter knocked in a pair with a double, giving Chicago a 3-1 lead.

Cleburne would retake the lead in the fourth as 7 straight Railroaders would reach base against starter Jake Carroll and the newest Dog reliever, Greg Duncan, with six scoring.  The inning was punctuated with an RBI double by Hill Alexander.

Chicago would cut into the lead on another Teter double and then would take the lead in the sixth on Teter’s 20th homerun of the year, a three-run blast, putting the Dogs up 9-7.  Cleburne would take the lead once more on a two-run triple by Shed Long and RBI single from Thomas Dillard.

The Dogs would once again tie it in the 8th on a sacrifice fly by former Railroader catcher Gus Sosa, but in the bottom of the ninth, two walks and a single loaded the bases with nobody out and against Brian Schlitter, Korey Holland would ground the ball to SS Brantley Bell and Bell’s throw home was wild, allowing Brett Boswell to score and give Cleburne the 11-10 win.

The loss drops Chicago to 40-36 on the year, while Cleburn moves five games up on the dogs at 45-31.  The winning pitcher was Dylan Bice, he improves to 2-1 on the year, while Jackson Dannelley suffered his first professional loss, dropping to 0-1.

These two teams will play again tomorrow night, 7:06pm at La Moderna Field in Cleburne.  Kenny Serwa (4-5 4.66) will take his knuckleball to the mound opposite former Dog Jalen Miller (2-1 3.60).  All Chicago Dogs games are streamed, live and free on aabaseball.tv
