GENEVA, ILL. — The Chicago Dogs led, 4-0, in the third inning, but a resurgent Kane County Cougars team stormed back for a 10-5 on Tuesday afternoon.
Three Key Plays:
- With Chicago leading 4-0 in the third inning, Kane County’s Cornelius Randolph smoked a three-run home run to center to kickstart the rally.
- Shortstop Galli Cribbs Jr. drove a two-out double to bring home two runs and tie it a 5-5 in the sixth inning.
- Kane County took the lead on a Pete Kozma two-out, two-run single in the seventh inning.
The Arms: Nick Green started his first game for the Dogs and racked up 10 strikeouts, allowing three runs in four innings of work. Kane County’s Luke Westphal allowed four runs in his three-inning start, and the Cougars’ bullpen held firm to secure the win.
The Bats: Early on, the Dogs’ offense was hot, thanks to a Josh Altmann RBI single in the first, a Luke Mangieri home run in the first, a Braxton Davidson RBI single in the third.
