The Dogs dropped the series finale at home to the Lincoln Saltdogs by a final of 4-2 on Sunday afternoon, despite some very good pitching, and quite a few runners on base. They outhit Lincoln 7-3, but made 2 errors, both of which led to runs scoring. Dusty Stroup started the scoring with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the first, however the Saltdogs would go on to score 4 runs before Chicago scratched across second one in the seventh inning on a fielder’s choice. A Danny Bautista Jr. homer in the seventh capped off a three run inning for Lincoln. That home run would eventually prove to be the difference maker. Dogs pitching wasn’t bad, but it was a weird day, as they started with lefty Zach Davidson, and had to make it through the sixth inning between him and Dwayne Marshall. J.C. Keys allowed 3 runs in his one inning of work, before handing it over to Jacob DeLabio, who threw two scoreless. The Dogs are off tomorrow before beginning a three game set at home against the Milwaukee Milkmen on Tuesday night. First pitch at Impact Field is scheduled for 6:30 pm. Connor Curlis, tied for the league lead in strikeouts, is scheduled to start for the Dogs. All Chicago Dogs games are streamed, live and free on aabaseball.tv.
