Offensive hit parade seals series victory for Chicago Dogs, 7-4.

It’s not everyday all nine players in the batting order get a hit. This was the case for the Dogs in game three in Kane County.

The Dogs offense got ahead early, totalling four hits in the top of the second inning. Hits from Johnni Turbo, Jesus Lujano, Nick Novak and Nick Dalesandro put four runs on the board for the Dogs.

It didn’t take long for the explosive Dogs offense to add additional runs. In the top of the fifth inning, first baseman Jacob Teter took one deep for a two run home run, scoring Narciso Crook. Teter’s eighth home run of the year put him tied for fourth in the American Association in home runs.

Matt Walker, the starting pitcher for the Dogs, had himself a strong outing, allowing just two runs over five innings, striking out five.

Walker was used often as a starter in the Detroit Tigers minor league system, and seems to have found himself a spot in the Dogs rotation, transitioning out of the bullpen.

Davis Pratt relieved Walker, his third appearance out of the bullpen in the last five days. Pratt threw two innings, allowing one run on four hits.

The already shorthanded bullpen continued to get used, calling in Cal Coughlin and Joey Marciano to each go out for late innings.

The Dogs provided a much needed insurance run in the eighth inning, loading up the bases for Crook to walk, scoring Dusty Stroup.

The win in game three gave the Dogs the series win. The team will start a long home stand, first hosting the Lincoln Saltdogs for a four game series.
