As has been the case for the entire road trip, the Dogs offense put up good numbers, but was unable to keep up with a rough pitching performance. The staff had their work cut out for them, with Austin Eaton making his starting debut for Chicago in his nineteenth appearance of the season. Unfortunately, the Sioux City offense was too much for Eaton and the staff, as they defeated the struggling Dogs by a final of 11-5.

Not a single pitcher for Chicago tossed a scoreless outing, as the staff combined for eleven runs (nine earned) on fourteen hits, five walks, and three strikeout. They gave up two home runs. Eaton, Donny Tober, Grant Cherry, J.C. Flowers, and Kelvan Pilot were responsible for those runs, with Pilot being the only member of the staff escaping with zero earned runs allowed.

Once again, the offence played well, but it wasn’t enough to keep up with Sioux City, as they put up five runs on fifteen hits and three walks. Some poor baserunning and situational hitting lead to the Dogs stranding quite a few runners. A few players had good performances, including Tyreque Reed, who drove in two runs on two hits in his five plate appearances. Jonathan Soto also had a great performance, driving in two runs, one of which came on back-to-back triples with Giovanni DiGiacomo. Nick Roselli drove in a run himself, and has been a welcome addition
to the lineup.
